CASE STUDY 1

Gisborne Helicopters needed a rig to lay out high tension cables for the power companies.
We designed and built a rig to allow a helicopter to safely lay electrical wires across difficult terrain. The rig has two braking arrangements controlled from the helicopter and a system to allow a large variety of wire drum sizes to be fitted quickly to the rig suspended from the helicopter. The system worked perfectly from the first trial.
CASE STUDY 2
Eastland Debarker had a problem with accelerated corrosion on the transfer rollers in their Spray Treatment Tunnel.
We installed stainless steel tips to the edge of the flutes so the contact edge that engaged the logs was corrosion resistant and the rest of the roller, which did not take the knocks, remained protected by the epoxy paint.

CASE STUDY 3
Eastland Debarker spray booth rollers were supported by large heavy duty flange bearings that struggled to cope with the constant hammering from the logs.
We designed and built a plain bearing system with a side thrust arrangement that bolted in place of the original setup. Drive sprockets were held in place without grubscrews to eliminate another problem caused by the log hammering. This system gave over two years service before refurbishing.

CASE STUDY 4
LDE have a Soil Test Rig that was originally mounted on a Bobcat.
We designed and built an arrangement that allows the rig to fit a range of digger Quiktach systems and also allows the rig to be rotated to drill angle holes. Along with a mancage it allows the rig to work in many more situations than before. Also a digger can be hired from a contractor close to where the work is required.
